We are looking for a Payroll Specialist with expertise in German payroll to join our Finance team. Your responsibilities will have a strong focus on managing payroll processes in Germany, alongside supporting our international payroll operations. The role supports processes across Finance, Data, Legal and Payroll. Weâre looking for someone who can maintain the highest quality of support we provide our clients. Due to the nature of our business and how we operate weâre looking for someone who can provide strong administrative skills and the ability to work in a fast paced environment.
What we expect from you... đ
- You MUST have experience in Payroll Operations within Germany. Processing payrolls end to end through payroll software. Ideally you have worked in a payroll practice.
- Coordinate and manage payroll operations with a primary focus within Germany including support with international payroll, payments preparation, expenses management and invoicing.
- Build out and improve our existing payroll service within Germany.
- Manage and process international payroll for our clients' employees.
- Support the Finance team to prepare and create payroll reports.
- Collaborate with the legal team/entities to ensure compliance with regulations and policies are met.
- Provide administrative support to various departments as needed.
- Develop and implement process improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and accuracy across functions.
- Document existing processes and ensure they are regularly updated to maintain clarity and consistency.
- Conduct research and analyse data to support decision-making processes.
- Respond to employee and client inquiries related to HR, Finance, Legal, and Payroll functions
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.

- Strong understanding of German payroll, financial and taxation processes and principles is essential.
- Youâre data savvy with proven experience using Excel/google sheets to create spreadsheets and custom reports.
- Experience in setting up local payroll software is desirable (DATEV etc).
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
- Strong attention to detail, results driven with a can-do attitude.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Youâre analytical, structured and possess strong problem solving capabilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Familiarity with HR, Payroll and accounting software would be desirable but not essential.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- An added bonus if you have experience in processing other European payrolls.
- You are in command of a European language and completely fluent in English. Our desirable native preference for this role would be German.
